who am i?

Jerron Smith uses the working name “thepixelsmith” to denote a connection to the craftsmen of old. Though instead of metal or paint he works with a medium unique to the 20th century; the pixel. A multimedia guru and skilled designer he likes to describe himself as an animator, designer,editor, & educator; a renaissance man of the 21st century. He is a multi-faceted artist and video creator and has worked in a wide variety of different media. He has experience in both digital video/television production, and post-production as well as extensive knowledge of the Web and Print Design industries.

Project Breakdown:

This is an info-graphic taken from the Adobe 2012 State of Create Global Benchmark study. As with all informational graphics the goal here was to create a coherent and readable graphical display of the information while at the same time making it visually appealing and engaging for the audience.

Process:

The initial graph animation was created in Autodesk 3DStudio Max.
The animation was then rendered out as individual passes as png sequences to be composited in After Effects.
3DStudioMax camera data and null objects for positional reference were also exported and brought into AE as well.
Text was added and animated in After Effects and final color correction was performed on all elements.
